Trail Park Klínovec

Located in the Ore Mountains of the Czech Republic, Trail Park Klínovec is one of the largest mountain bike trail destinations in the region. The trail network is built around the summit of Klínovec at 1,244 metres above sea level, with approximately 30 km of purpose-built singletrails and a further 70 km of marked MTB routes in the surrounding area.

Trail Park Klínovec combines 30 km of singletrails with approximately 70 km of marked MTB routes, offering everything from beginner-friendly flow trails to demanding technical downhill terrain.

The park is designed for a wide range of riders, from children and beginners to experienced downhill and enduro riders. Trails include smooth, gently descending flow sections as well as technical terrain with roots, rocks, jumps, drops, and steep descents.

Trail Network

The Trail Park offers approximately 30 km of maintained singletrails, divided into different difficulty categories. The official trail network includes both flowing trails and more technical freeride and downhill terrain.

Some of the longest and best-known descents include:

• Azur – 10.3 km – a long, gently descending flow trail designed for beginners and families.

• Rubin – 8 km – one of the park's longest continuous descents.

• Baron – 6 km – another long flow-oriented descent through the Klínovec landscape.

• Illegal – approximately 3 km – a demanding technical trail featuring natural rocky terrain, roots, stream crossings, and jumps.

• Downhill Klínovec – approximately 3 km – a dedicated difficult downhill section with technical terrain.

The park also includes a Skillcentrum and pumptrack at the summit, where riders can practice bike handling and familiarise themselves with features found on the mountain trails.

Long Flow Trails

One of Trail Park Klínovec's defining characteristics is the length of its flowing descents. Azur, Rubin, and Baron provide exceptionally long continuous rides compared with many bike parks.

Azur, at 10.3 km, is one of the longest flow-style mountain bike descents in Europe.

The long, gently descending character of these trails makes Klínovec particularly appealing to riders who enjoy sustained flow riding rather than short bike park runs.

Technical Riding

While the park is well suited to beginners, more experienced riders can choose substantially more technical terrain.

The difficult trails include natural surfaces with rocks, roots, steep sections, jumps, drops, and uneven terrain. The Illegal trail is regarded by the park as one of the most demanding trails at Klínovec and is also used for Czech Enduro Series racing.

Experienced riders can move from long flow trails to technical freeride, enduro, and downhill terrain within the same destination.

Lift Access

Trail Park Klínovec uses the chairlift to transport riders and their bikes back to the top of the mountain.

The chairlift is 2,168 metres long and has a transport capacity of approximately 2,400 people per hour.

The uplift system allows riders to concentrate on descending rather than climbing back to the summit after each run.

Elevation and Vertical Drop

The top of Klínovec reaches 1,244 metres above sea level, while the park provides approximately 500 metres of vertical descent.

The combination of significant vertical drop and long trails means that individual runs can take considerably longer than typical short bike park descents.

The Skillcentre and pumptrack at the summit provide a convenient place to practice before heading onto the mountain trails. Riders can work on bike control and familiarise themselves with different types of features.

The local Bike School Klínovec also offers individual lessons and group courses for both beginner and intermediate riders.

Riding Season

Trail Park Klínovec generally operates from May through October, with exact opening dates and lift operation depending on weather and conditions.

For the 2026 season, the published schedule begins in May and includes regular summer operation through July and August, followed by September and October operating periods. The current schedule extends into 1 November 2026.

The long operating season, from spring into autumn, makes Klínovec one of the more accessible mountain bike destinations in the Ore Mountains.

MTB Routes Beyond the Trail Park

In addition to the 30 km of purpose-built singletrails, the wider area around Klínovec offers approximately 70 km of marked MTB routes.

This gives riders the option to combine lift-served trail riding with longer mountain bike rides through the surrounding Ore Mountains.

Safety

Trail Park Klínovec provides clearly marked trails for different levels of ability. Riders should choose a trail appropriate for their skills, physical condition, and equipment.

The park's safety rules include:

• Always wear a helmet and appropriate protective equipment.

• Stay in control at all times.

• Follow the marked direction of the trail.

• Stay on designated trails.

• Respect trail closures and warning signs.

• Give way appropriately when overtaking.

• Do not stop where you obstruct the trail or cannot be seen by riders above.

• Do not ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
