About Châtel Bike Park

Châtel Bike Park is a renowned downhill and freeride destination in the Portes du Soleil, located in the French Alps near the Swiss border. Set in a natural mountain environment, the park combines technical downhill tracks, fast flow trails, jumps, and challenging freeride features, making it a popular destination for experienced mountain bikers.

The park features 21 marked trails with a variety of riding styles and difficulty levels. Riders can choose between technical and challenging downhill tracks, flowing trails, and jump-focused routes, with terrain ranging from easier trails to very difficult lines. The constantly evolving trail network is maintained and reshaped throughout the season.

Châtel is particularly well known for its freeride facilities. The park includes a Drop Zone with features for progression, a Dirt Park with beginner, intermediate, and expert lines, and a dedicated Slopestyle area featuring jumps, doubles, a wall ride, and step-downs. These facilities complement the main trail network and provide plenty of opportunities to develop jumping and freeride skills.

The main Bike Park area at Pré la Joux is served by the Pierre Longue and Rochassons chairlifts, providing efficient access to the downhill trails. Riders can also connect with the wider Portes du Soleil network, which offers access to numerous bike parks and hundreds of kilometres of interconnected riding across France and Switzerland.

With its combination of technical natural terrain, flow trails, jumps, freeride features, and lift access, Châtel Bike Park offers a varied riding experience particularly suited to downhill, freeride, and advanced mountain bikers.
