Val Thorens Bike Park

Val Thorens Bike Park is part of the Belleville Bike Park, a large mountain biking destination in the French Alps that also includes Les Menuires and Saint-Martin-de-Belleville. The area offers around 20 downhill and enduro trails for different ability levels, with lift access providing riders with convenient access to the higher mountain terrain.

Val Thorens sits at around 2,300 metres above sea level, making it one of the highest Alpine resorts and an impressive starting point for high-altitude mountain biking.

Downhill Trails

The Val Thorens sector features a selection of downhill trails ranging from beginner-friendly green runs to challenging red and black terrain.

New for the 2026 summer season are several downhill developments accessed from the 2 Lacs gondola, including the Blue Moon (DH11) blue trail and Devil Shark (DH15) red trail.

The Blue Moon is 2.1 km long with 224 metres of descent, while Devil Shark provides a more demanding 1.7 km descent with 256 metres of negative elevation.

The resort also features the High Line (DH8), whose lower section is currently 1.6 km long with 110 metres of descent.

Enduro

For riders who prefer longer natural descents, the Belleville Bike Park offers an extensive enduro network. The Combe de Thorens (E7) is one of the dedicated enduro routes starting from the top of the 2 Lacs lift.

This green-rated route is 6.8 km long, with 423 metres of descending, and reaches a maximum altitude of 2,490 metres. Its relatively easy terrain makes it suitable for riders looking to discover enduro riding at altitude.

Additional enduro routes throughout the Belleville Valley range from blue to black difficulty, including routes such as Balcon du Lou, La Masse, Geffriand, La Loyale and Dégage-à-Moûtiers.

Lift Access

The bike park is designed around lift-assisted riding. Riders can use the 2 Lacs gondola, Roc 1 gondola and St Martin Express chairlift to reach different sections of the network.

A free Belleville Valley shuttle with bike trailer also connects the resorts, allowing mountain bikers to move between Val Thorens, Les Menuires and Saint-Martin-de-Belleville and explore the wider Bike Park.

MTB Network

Beyond the dedicated downhill and enduro trails, the Belleville Valley has a much larger mountain biking network with 40 MTB and e-MTB routes covering approximately 321 km, ranging from around 660 m to 2,800 m in altitude.

The combination of lift-accessed downhill trails, natural enduro routes and extensive cross-valley MTB riding makes Val Thorens a versatile destination for mountain bikers looking for high-altitude Alpine riding.
