Alpenbikepark Chur

Located on Brambrüesch, the local mountain of Chur, Alpenbikepark Chur is one of the key gravity riding destinations within the wider Bike Kingdom. The park features five dedicated downhill and freeride trails across three difficulty levels, with riders able to descend from the mountain directly toward the city of Chur.

Alpenbikepark Chur offers five trails across blue, red, and black difficulty levels, with approximately 1,000 metres of vertical descent from Brambrüesch to Chur.

The park combines natural terrain with purpose-built features such as jumps, drops, North Shores, wall rides, roots, rocks, and technical sections. Its relatively low elevation also contributes to a long riding season compared with many higher Alpine bike parks.

Five Bike Park Trails

The five official trails cover a range of riding styles and difficulty levels:

• Brambi Flow – a blue flow trail with numerous berms and a smooth singletrack character, suitable for beginners and recreational riders.

• Alpenride – a red freeride trail combining jumps, drops, and varied technical sections for intermediate and experienced riders.

• Rock'n'Roll – a black technical trail featuring numerous jumps and demanding terrain for advanced downhill riders.

• Chur Flow – a blue trail descending from Känzeli toward Chur, with a moderately steep main line and optional technical side lines featuring jumps, drops, step-ups, and step-downs.

• Vertigo – a black trail with a steep opening section, jumps, and technically demanding terrain in the lower part of the descent.

1,000 Metres of Descent

One of the defining characteristics of Alpenbikepark Chur is its substantial vertical drop. The upper starting point at Brambrüesch is around 1,595 m, while Chur's valley station is approximately 595 m, creating around 1,000 metres of vertical difference.

The trails are divided into an upper section between Brambrüesch and Känzeli and a lower section continuing from Känzeli toward Chur.

Riders can descend approximately 1,000 vertical metres from Brambrüesch directly toward the Alpine city of Chur.

Lift Access

The park is accessed from Chur via the Brambrüesch cable car, which transports riders and bikes from the city toward the mountain. The upper station at Brambrüesch sits at approximately 1,595 m, while Känzeli provides an intermediate access point at around 1,170 m.

The lift system allows riders to return to the mountain without having to climb the full elevation between runs.

Long Riding Season

Thanks to its relatively low elevation, Alpenbikepark Chur enjoys a long riding season compared with many higher-altitude Alpine bike parks. The operating period extends from spring into autumn, with exact opening dates and trail availability depending on weather, maintenance, and operating conditions.

For 2026, the published operating schedule includes:

• Weekend operation: 2–31 May

• Daily operation: 5 June–18 October

• Additional weekend operation: 24–25 October and 31 October–1 November

Chur and the Bike Kingdom

Alpenbikepark Chur is part of the wider Bike Kingdom, which connects Chur, Lenzerheide, and Arosa into a large mountain biking destination.

Its location creates a distinctive riding experience: after descending from Brambrüesch, riders finish directly in Chur, where they can access restaurants, cafés, and the city's historic old town.

Few bike parks offer the opportunity to finish a 1,000-metre mountain descent directly in a city.

Beyond the five official park trails, Brambrüesch also provides access to additional enduro, cross-country, and mountain bike routes, giving riders options beyond dedicated downhill and freeride terrain.

Trail Maintenance and Safety

The Alpenbikepark trails are maintained by the Alpenbikepark Association. Riders are required to follow the park's safety instructions and rules, and use of the trails is at their own risk.

Riders should always respect trail signage, current conditions, and their own riding ability.
